Sadly, my son had to have emergency surgery right after Thanksgiving and was in the hospital for 8 days, so unfortunately I didn't get to do a couple of other sessions. I was able to fit this sweetie in. 6 months and adorable!

Although I don't have a "baby plan" I am lucky enough to have appointments to photograph this little cutie every three months. G. is now three months old and SO sweet!! He made the happiest cooing sounds, totally melted my heart. He is the youngest of 5 boys, so kudos to his super mom for not letting his infancy go unrecorded. : )

Now, I am a little rusty with baby signals, but something tells me he is getting to his limit . . .

Oh, I was right! But he's even cute when he cries.

He began to suck his thumb during our session. So sweet!

When I was preparing for this shoot, I was preparing for chaos! What would you expect with 4 boys (including a set of triplets) and a newborn? To my delight, these were the best behaved boys! So sweet and helpful.

Mr. G. decided to wake up for the photo shoot. He wiggled all over, but didn't fuss a bit. I love this picture!

Time FLIES! My remodel is almost over and so far has been sooo worth it. It has been really fun to have a different outlet for my creativity. But I'm missing photography and am grateful to be having some requests come my way again. Hope all has been well with you and you are enjoying this Fall season.

Yes, I am alive! Thanks for hanging in there with me. I think the same gene that makes me frequently underestimate travel times--therefore making me frequently late--also makes me underestimate time lines and how much time it will take to actually do something. Renovations, still in on the drawing board, although I'm completely giddy about the whole thing. Kids, settled into routines and friends like we lived here our whole lives--so grateful for that. Things are going magnificently and we LOVE Austin.

So, record Bluebonnet crop this year and we almost missed it! They were gorgeous! Two other attempts had bad weather, but we were grateful to have a bit of flower variation with Indian Paintbrushes and a white and pink wild flower mix. Delicious light and beautiful people added to the fabulous evening.

It's too close to Christmas for me to ruin someone's Christmas picture surprise (sorry S's, I didn't think about that.) So, here is what I can teach future clients about taking pictures with me:

1) If you must be silly, make sure everyone is doing it at the same time.

2) If you need to go to the bathroom, just tell me.

3) Do exactly as I say! If I say leap to our next location--DO IT! It is essential for good photography (or at least good blackmail pictures.)

4) If I can't get your name straight, forgive me, even if you have told me 213 times.

5) If the five year old asks for family wrestling as a reward for a session well done, I'm okay with that!

. . . at least they make it look that way! Mr. Lashes and his sweet family were back for his one year session. They are so fun, I'm glad they are coming to Austin next year to let me take more pictures! ; ) It was a crazy day for me--one sick kid at home, another coming home from school, change of location, a plethora of mosquitos and a mad dash for bug spray all on top of moving chaos, but they totally took it in stride. And here is their payback--we had nice cool weather and GORGEOUS light! Hardly touched these pictures!

Now we are heading to Austin right after Thanksgiving. I'd love it if you'd help me spread the word to your friends and family in Austin. That morning I was a little disappointed in our light, as I really love back lighting, but the overcast day made a beautiful glow on her flawless baby skin and looks like a painting. We had to reschedule the poor K. family's shoot twice, once for wind and once for FOG of all things. She was very bummed, but I kept telling her that I was sure it was just trying to be the perfect day for them. I was so right! I was so excited to have my first shoot of the year be beautiful Miss Grace. She is the baby of Amy & co. and she is also very photogenic, as you can see. I am really beginning to appreciate the unique qualities of people. I plan my shoots, and they are pretty similar in goal as far as what to make sure I capture, but every shoot turns out different and the emotions I catch are different. I love it!

I met this beautiful family when I moved to Katy three years ago. One of the boys, we'll call him "M.," was doing all he could do sabotage the photo shoot. I cracked up as I edited these and watched his face. He was so silly, but he secretly loved it as I discovered as the shoot progressed and he would ask me to take certain pictures of him.

Okay, how sweet is this? We were taking a long walk to get to the other side of the lake and I turned around to see L. collecting rocks and her dad holding them for her! So cute.

The J. Family were great sports! It was FREEZING, about 45 degrees and there was a breeze--okay freezing for Southern Texas. They would throw off coats, smile, and then we would pass coats around again. I had to laugh several times while editing, looking at Ms. E's angelic face and freezing posture. Kudos to you!

I joked with K. that she was living right. It rained about 15 minutes before our shoot was to begin, but then the sun came out and provided perfect light for pictures. She is beautiful and we got some gorgeous shots. Thanks K!
